The House That Moved is an incredible story from Exeter in Devon. This timber-framed Tudor house dates from around 1430. It was originally the Merchant’s House located at 16, Edmund Street, Exeter and was scheduled for demolition in 1961 to make way for the new inner bypass road.

The building was Grade II listed just in time to save it, and it was schedule for moving instead. The house was moved around 90 metres down the road to West Street by the Old West Gate and is now a hugely popular attraction within the city.

How crazy is that, actually moving a whole building down the road, especially such an old and delicate one?!
